In Search Of:

Commerical hard-line (plastic or PVC) intake/output manifold assembly at diameter of 1". Most are available at 5/8" or 3/4", like this but I can not
locate one for 1" diameter:

http://a1272.g.akamai.net/7/1272/1121/20051201181740/www.drsfostersmith.com/images/Categoryimages/normal/p_14142_21301DB.jpg (javascript:popupWin1('/product/detailed_image.cfm?pCatId=9850&large=/images/Categoryimages/larger/lg_14142_21301DB.jpg', 50, 50, 349, 616))

Why? I'm strongly considering doing a hard line for my FX5. I could DIY from HD/Lowes but I'd prefer a commercial assembly if available. Can anyone recommend a source I may not be aware of? DFS, BigAls, Aquarium Guys and similar sources all negative.

I hardlined my FX5.
I used 1" ID Beverage tubing (clear vinyl, with the nylon string inside) and 3/4" PVC pipe (sched 40) the 1" tubing fits perfectly over the stock disconnedts that come with the FX5, and it also fits right over the outside of the 3/4" PVC.

Check my 125 gal link below, there are some pix in that thread.

I would just build one myself...

Thanks Zig, this is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm using the same beverage tubing (1/2" ID) for my CO2 reactor loop with the Fluval 205 and I love the stuff... the ribbed stock tubing needs to go (to much junk collects/spews). Planning on using the 1" for sure.
