I just purchased a canister filter for my tank. My Penguin Biowheel 170 was creating too much surface agitation and killing my co2 level. I decided on the Fluval 304 (not 303 as in title, typo) for its price and reviews. The tank is a 29 gallon so I know the filter is currently overkill but I plan on doing a 55 gallon sometime in the near future. Here is my question. What filter media for each of the 3 levels should I use to best help my newly planted tank. The aquarium has been running for over 2 years now and I currently have 5 plants. I am adding a doy co2 injection also. Lighting is a power compact from custom sealife with 2 65 watt 6700K bulbs (i love the moonlight effect this thing has). Should this canister filter help keep my co2 in the tank? If I forgot any info let me know.
