So, I learned that Stress Coat+ can neutralize ammonia (would have known that already if I red the GIANT letters on the front of the bottle, lol).

Can adding stress coat+ to an aquarium throw off the following tests-
Nitrite
Nitrate
Ammonia (this one I assume is a yes)
PH
??????

I thought it was Prime that detoxified ammonia?

I thought Stress coat was just a conditioner for Chlorine etc. w/ Aloe?

To answer your original question, I'm not 100% sure.

You could always test it out. Take ammonia reading before adding and then after. See if the numbers change.

Here is my understanding of how the new Stress Coat differs from products advertised specifically as ammonia detoxifiers (like Ammo Lock):
Most water conditioners neutralize chlorine and break down chloramine. When they break down chloramine, they break it into chlorine and ammonia. The chlorine is then neutralized, but the ammonia is not. But because it is usually a negligible amount, your biological filtration takes care of it quickly. This is how the original Stress Coat worked.
However, some water conditioners take a third step--in addition to neutralizing chlorine and breaking down chloramine, they also detoxify the ammonia released when the chloramine is broken down.
Now, Ammo Lock detoxifies ammonia, too, but on a larger scale--it is marketed as something to add when your biological filtration is not taking care of the ammonia your fish produce, such as during cycling. It will affect the outcome of your ammonia test, if the test cannot distinguish between toxic and detoxified ammonia.
But the new Stress Coat can't take care of large amounts of ammonia--it is designed only to detoxify what ammonia is immediately released when the chloramine breaks down. As far as I know, the new Stress Coat will not affect ammonia tests the way other ammonia-binding products can. The small amount of ammonia that it detoxifies probably wouldn't show up on a test, anyway.

they have probably added what the prime already does by now. Thing is though, it costs me £8.99 for a bottle of stress coat and £9.99 for a same sized bottle of prime... and the prime does way more doses then the SC so i find its worth the extra £1

Thanks for the excellent info LeahK.
I changed only a couple gallons of water last night and used Stress Coat+ in it. This morning, the hang in tester still showed no ammonia, so perhaps my BB have finally caught up if it's probably not the minimal amount of stress coat+ I added to the water.
I will be doing testing of the water Friday, hopefully this cycle is over!
