This is Lindsay, an olive nerite I acquired from Msjinkzd. I named Lindsay "Lindsay" since she looked like a black olive. She is now turning green where there is new growth! I took these pictures right after she was chowing down on her favorite "first peas" flavored snail jello. 77924

In the first photo you can see that her shell is starting to match her foot.

I have everything listed in my "tank setup" list. This particular snail is in a snail only 29 gallon. In it I have one Zebra nerite, one bumble bee nerite, the olive nerite pictured, and 6 jade Mystery snails. The plants are wisteria and various anubias.

I almost forgot - there is a burgundy Mystery snail in with him too. (New recent addition).

I would guess it has to do with dietary differences. Since they are all wild caught, what they eat before capture and after can vary greatly. Just hyphothesizing.

That is sort of funny because Lindsay is always at that food bowl looking for jello. I doubt she had jello in the wild and is wondering what in the world she stumbled upon! LOL! The zebra nerite "Safari" loves to snack on those vacation feeders, and the bumble bee "Honey" mostly grazes plant leaves. She will eat snail jello but only the pea flavor.

You can tell alot about how good conditions are for a snail by how the shell looks. She's beautiful.. and lucky she has you to take such good care of her.
