went to the lfs today asked about loaches and they had kuhlis @ .................................................. ... .089 cents each!! go home ask my mom if i can get a school and no. can u belive it kuhlis for 89 cents and i cant get any :mad2: anyways i guess my question wat is the price of kuhlis in your area? and is 89 cents a re a really good deal?

Lessee...I can buy stripey ones for 1.29 at Petco (but they all die), black ones for 1.99 at PetSmart (some of them die), or stripey ones for $4 at a decent LFS (but they all still die). I have really bad luck with striped khulis :(.

Buy them. They don't show up much like most fish do so your mother won't suspect anything really.

Kick karma's ***, kuhlis are 5$ each around here. Get 20. If one comes out of hiding and she sees it, tell her it's always been there (if she's clueless as to what you have in your tank) or tell her it came out of your plants. She doesn't know what a kuhli is, correct? :D

and i second his opinion. yes its a great deal, but you live under your mom's roof and she pays for everything but your fish habit im assuming. maybe try to make a deal with her: you'll do _____________ extra chores around the house and not ask for anything else for a month or two if she will let you get some of the loaches.

However, I do agree that you should try to negotiate with your Mom. Work extra hard at your chores, and always do it whole heartedly, not half a**(censorship mine). Do extra work around the house.

Show your Mom that you respect her authority, but that you are responsible and serious minded about your fishkeeping.

haha well i had a talk with her and............................................... .................................................. ............................................. sHE AGREED!! im getting 5 of them at 75 cents each!! my lfs started ordering from a new distributer and this guy sells them at 75 cents each so yay!! and i got 3 clown loaches as(well getting) b4 u start flaming me plz read this!: I WILL PROVIDE FOR THEM AS THEY GROW!! as they get bigger and bigger ill get a bigger tank for them! when they hit 5 inches they get a 72 and then 125 down the road so dont worry these guys will be in good hands! and plz dont flame me i am not lying theyll be alright!

im movin out as soon as im old enough to, which by then the clowns will need that 72 but i may get a 125 and make a planted discus tank, im not sure yet. moved out my cories today, and boy that was a job. cant wait to get my loaches this friday there here! and thats quite a store x916krew! over 22k gallons of water wow!

Neat that you manged to get clowns and the loaches, but I think you are in for one heck of a shock when you move out into your own place. it's easy to say now that you may get a 125 planted discus tank, but when you are in your place and paying the bills for everything, its not so easy to simply say you will get a bigger tank.
