I'd like to increase my light output to get some different plants and I was looking at retrofitting this hood. Has anyone done it with this?? I did read another thread that gave step by step directions for retrofitting, but the hood was a bit different. I just thought I'd ask :) Thanks, Lisa

Some more info -- I have a 20 gal long with the 30 inch hood. Would like to increase to about 2 WPG. Thanks

Will accept 14 watt to 27 watt CFL's

Here's mine

Disassembled, painted white, drilled holes for the fixtures, reused the switch, tried to wire neatly. Currently have 3 of these each with 4 13W 6500K bulbs.

I've got other hoods without vent slats that I'm not willing to cut yet. I'm actually saving for T5 fixtures.

I retrofilled a 4' fixture to take 2x65w Cf culbs from AH supply, which worked really well. I also ripped apart a 36" fixture and replaced the ballast for an overdriven T8 bulb.
