I post some question about my cardinal getting ick a few days ago.
I purchase the guick cure and dump 45 drops into my 100 gals tank for 3 days now, the fish looks o.k to me now, i am planning to dump out 25% - 35% water out and replace it with age water 10% at a time, i am afraid the temp of the new water is not warm enough.
i read a lot , people say i have to continue treat it for 14 days.
now my question is o.k...
am i still putting 45 drops in or cut down the amount ?
and after 14 days later, do i have to put another type of medince in ? to kill other stuff ?
thanks !

With commercial preparations, you should follow the directions on the bottle. One reason I prefer to use salt and temp is that this can be used for much longer--and I can be certain that all parasites are killed. With the commercial medications, you run the risk that the parasites are not all killed, but the fish are healthy enough to avoid a full blown outbreak. This means that down the line, stress may weaken the fish to the point where the parasite can take over again.
Once treatment is complete, run fresh carbon for a week to remove any remaining medication.

Generally speaking you should follow the instructions on the medicine regarding the length of time you treat the tank. If the medicine says fourteen days, give it to them for fourteen days. The outward symptoms of ich will go away before the fish are completely healed. If you stop early, the illness can come right back.
You ask if you need a second medicine to kill the first medicine? If you have a carbon filter (which you would have removed to give the medicine), putting that back in should remove whatever meds are in the water. Again, check the directions. They may tell you to do a partial water change after you complete the medication cycle.

i use quick cure for 3 days now, 3 - 4 cardinals still show ich on their bodies, i remove 25 % (25 gals from a 100 gals tank) of the water lastnite, and add 10% water back in (because that all the water i have for ageing over a day or two) i safe some more water now and put a heater in to keep the new water warmer (80-82F) and treat it with some chloride remover into the water
will dump the water in after work today (8 hrs from now).
I have two cardinals don't make it, die this morning reason don't know. no sign of ick on their bodies, before they die, they seen to me very weak. i also treat the tank with salt and the temp is 80-81F, I am going to put the new carbon back into the tank. and see what happen.
other 2 tanks i have no idea, test the water is good, one 25 gals tank with 8 - 10 guppies, 3 die in one day and also one algue eater, other tank there is only one algue eater in there also die.
water is good.
what a bad month for me, i never have so many problem on fish in 2 weeks. i wonder will that be the water even i safe them over a few days before i use them, it all happen when we start having snow fall here.
about the salt, how many i have to add into my 100 gals tanks
i think I have added around 10 teaspoon in 4 days ago total.
and should i raise the temp even higher to 82-83F
thanks
