I loved Saturday night when the greats were on, Dan akroid, jane curtain,etc. today saturday night live is not all that..... I love Mad TV !

I watch it every week or whenever they're new but it's out of the hope that they'll have some genuinely funny material, most of the time it's not that funny. It's bottomed out since the electoral season, It was golden then, at least the political sketches were. Kirsten wigs skits are usually the funniest.

snl late 80's was great, I can't stay up that late anymore :), have not seen it in a while. The commercials are so long I fall asleep :)

I agree about the writing being pretty awful most of the time. You still get a gem every so often, but yeah...

I like SNL alot more now than I did 5-6 yrs. ago. My favorite gal is Kirsten Wiig and fav. guy is Bill Hader. He does a great Pacino and Malkovich.

Kristin Wiig is hilarious. If it weren't for her and the Samberg digital shorts, the show would have no redeeming qualities left. There have been a few (tina fey hosting was amazing) really hilarious episodes as of late, but overall, SNL is nearing the point where it should be taken out back and shot.

So, to answer your question, I probably watch it a bit too much...

Bobby Moynihan, he's a great comedian. He actually helped me with just joking around in real life. He said, disconnect your brain from your actions and at times you will find you say things that would shock yourself with how funny they are.
