View Full Version : New tank still cloudy after a week??
Dunno what the problem is... My new tank is still cloudy after a week of being setup and run with a filter.
The filter is an AC70 with foam, carbon, and then the bioballs...
Any ideas?

if the tank is new and not established, it's running through the nitrogen cycle and may take 4-6 weeks to complete, the cloudiness will go away, if it is infact the nitrogen cycle

What are your water parameters as stated your tank may just be cycling?

What else is in the tank? Do you have driftwood or any other foreign material in there? If so it could just be tanins.
Thanks for the info guys.
I just started fishless cycling. It was cloudy before that.
I have driftwood, but it was clean, and the water didn't get discolored from it.
I have one single live plant.
Would taking out the carbon and putting filter floss in place help?
