Tiger tail won't come out

I know that tiger tail cucumbers are nocturnal, but I have a big flat rock in the middle of my tank and my orange spotted goby is always "redecorating" around his house...which is the rock. Anyways, the cucumber went under the rock and doesn't come out at night. I know this because I have moonlights on for a few hours and there are no piles of sand balls anywhere in the tank in the morning. I lifted the rock yesterday and he was attached to it. Should I try to take it off the rock and put it somewhere else? I'm concerned because I think maybe it gets lost under the rock trying to find a way out at night with the everyday redecoration my goby does with the sand. I don't want it to die under there.

He may have just found a spot he likes and is getting all the debris from the goby's digging. I would prop the rock up with some other rocks so that I could see him even during the day. That way he'd be encouraged to explore other places.
