Well, I decided to hatch a clutch and have been waiting. This one took 13 days, usually they take 9. Here are a couple pics, its the clutch on the left. You can see a baby dropping out in a few at teh very bottom. Also, the clutch on the right was laid today, so you can see the color difference often mentioned.

you all are crazy if you think it makes money, lol. Between the shipping supplies, heat packs, food, energy bill, not to mention my time (not factored in) I am lucky to make a dollar a snail. And it takes LOTS of time and work to keep them healthy and happy. Its fun and I like sharing and it keeps my hobby going, lol.

I was thinking about that when i got my snails the other day. It is obvious that you put much time, effort and money into them. It seems like you'd be in the hole money wise.

The blue snails are GORGEOUS! I've never seen that shade in briggs. Do you have an idea what the color(s) of the hatching babies might be?

I'm glad you like to share. If you had not sent me 3 very horney male snails, I probably wouldn't get to witness the birth of baby snails myself. Thank you Rachel!:)
beautiful blue you have there, and what's that plant poking up above the waterline?

Caught in the act.:evil_lol: Blues are very pretty. I have a few here and they look like a blue version of pearls. Ivories are really like pearls.

The plant poking above the water line is sagittaria subulata, it blooms these little white delicate flowers.
The babies from this clutch will most likely be purple striped, magenta striped, blues and ivories. That is what I got from the last clutch in that tank :)

When they hatch and fall can they get hurt from the fall?

I don't think so. They are so teeny. They eat their way out, then parasnail to the bottom. Even when I manually hatch the clutches, they seem to do fine.

Thats a pretty flower!! :thm:
But really Rach......you need to stop breeding those snails.....:lipssealedsmilie: (did I really just say that?) or else I'm just gonna have to get another tank!!!!
 WootWoot!!!
I think its another tank for me and more snails for you!!!! You have some GREAT snails (mine are neat!! and they told me to say 'hello' to you for them) :omg: I gotta get out more......
whoa, I didn't know dwarf sag grew that tall or flowered. The ones I got from you months ago are just slowly dying :(

aww! They grow tall and flower in high light, stay low in low light and grow more laterally. I am sorry to hear they are not doing well! I have had them spread to the point that they are in all my tanks but 3 :(
I think it's just because they're so hard to plant! I feel like I'm all thumbs when I'm trying to put em in. Even lead plant weights aren't helping
