Got my xp4 and two hydor inline heaters from kens last night. I've got a few ideas but at the risk of seeming like an idiot, I thought I'd ask those that use these how they hang them off the back of the tank. Any advice, opinions or even pics appreciated.
Thanks.

I Used zip tie mounting bases that have a sticky back, stuck to my stand and tank. These 1"x1" bases are sold at lowes in the electrical area next to the zipties for $1-2 for 10.
I have also see a friend take a coat hanger and make a U shape with hooks on the end and a curly Q in the middle to hold the heater. Sort of like the wire hangers that hold water bottles on the side of rabbit cages. Sorry no pics. No camara today. Hope this helps. Zach

Both my hydors are just placed inline. The 200w one on the output side is not supported- its just inline, vertically, and the hose to the tank holds it up. The 300w one which I had to put on the input side is also just inline, but the horizontal line itself is supported as it runs from one end of the tank to the other so it holds up the heater.

Sorry no pics either.

Isn't it reccommended to place the inline heaters on the return tube of the cansiter filter? I think it would be hard to clean a heater as well as messy if it is on the intake tube.

This is true but perhaps circumstances left them no choice.

Yes, I had no choice, I could not make the heater fit between the filter output side and the back of the tank which was resricted access as it is an inwall tank. The intake run was over 4 ft and very easy to put the heater in. I was a bit concerned about doing it, but it has worked fine now for over 3 years. I would add that the filter is on a 75 gal that also has a HOT Magnum and and AquaClear 300 on it.
