ok, have way too many mts snails happening in my tanks right now. aside from constantly picking them out or poisoning them is there anything i could do to thin them out? or something that will eat them? i thought of getting a few loaches to eat them(and as an excuse to upgrade+i love loaches) but then i hear they won't eat them....what will eat them? i have an empty 20g and room in my 30 or 50g tanks to add more fish.
Loaches of botiine genus relish snails. Dojos, kuhlis and hillstreams don't eat snails.

So do you have more snails than we know of...they just go missing while your loaches are suddenly very fat and happy? :lipssealedsmilie:

lots of snails is usually a symptom of overfeeding. The population will grow as much as the nutrients will allow so it's likely that if you scaled back on feedings the snail pop will also scale back. Much like algae, try to find ways to treat the cause, not just the symptom :)

my fry tank is always over fed and i pull some mts for the community tank loaches. They love pond snails, but they never get chance to hatch as they love the eggs too, i have had to move some ponds to my invert tank so they get a chance to breed lol.
