Just curious if these are moss roots and what they use to grab on to stuff. (the hair like stuff)

I think it might be a type of algae, mine don't have that.

moss doesnt have roots.... others are right.

really? I thought those were rhizoids. I noticed they appear and disappear on moss fronds that "float".

Rhizoids look to be more stringier...the pic looks more like algae to me.

If it is algae, then why is it mostly on the bottom side of the moss and not the top? And it never grows more than that length.

Rhizoids are what the roots are called, but they're not formed like that.

Looks to me like algae growing on your moss... which happens quite often in our tanks.

Agreed here's a pic of some BBA I had in one of my tanks and it looks rather similar to what you have.

Increased circulation in that area is usually all I need to keep that at bay.
