registering for the draft...

So I just realized this week that I had not registered for the draft (turned 18 in Nov.) and started freaking out...the fine is $250,000 and I could become ineligible for a lot of finical aid for college and it was obviously way past the 30 day limit. But when I tried registering online I found that I had somehow already been registered, Dec. 24th was the date...now I don't remember ever doing it specifically. Was it covered when I renewed my drivers license? I did receive a letter from SSS with my number so I guess it makes sense but I want to make sure...

here.... when you reg to vote or do your drivers license its almost always auto done for you

Well I wasn't able to vote but I guess it was done when I renewed my license then...good to know.

I remember when I had to register ,the Vietnam war was all I heard of as a kid and now it was my time. Lucky for me right after I registered they ended the war.

I remember going to the post office to register, but that was over 25 years ago. not sure how its done now........

LOL I got a letter in the mail saying "Greetings, you have been selected. . . . ." Draft number 36 (Lottery system).
