I have a 30 gallon, planted, community tank. I purchased a powerhead that may have been a bit too large for my tank... at least it is much larger than my old one.

is there a danger of too much current in a tank? it is noticeability much higher... the fish seem to be fine but i'm a bit worries... how does one tell if it's too much??

Thanks ahead of the time!!

What kind of fish? If they look happy then you are probably ok.

if your fish only stay in one part of the tank where theres low flow then i guess you have 2 much output..

if your not blowing the plants out of the gravel the plants are fine..... if the fish seem fine then no danger.

a couple angle fish, a few zebras, and a few (each) neons, cardinals, and black tetras

If the fish seem fine, then don't worry about it. I'm gonna stick a Koralia Nano (240 GPH) into my tank in about a week here, so really, no worries.

I have a EMP-400, Fluval 205 and A Koralia Nano running in my 29 gallon tank and everything is good :thm:
I also never need to vacuum the substrate when I do water changes, just drain from the top and refill :)
