Hello-
I've had one of my male blue rams for about a year now. He's never been sickly but last night I noticed that he was swimming funny. He swims forward but instead of his mouth being even with his tail, it's pointed way up, so that he's swimming at an angle. He's breathing really heavily and this morning he's just sitting in a plant at that same odd angle. I would really appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you!

What are the test results (Ammo, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH)?

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
pH: 7.6 (Our tap water out here has high pH)
Last water change: less than 2 weeks ago

All the other fish are fine (and I have several other blue rams). This is the only one with any symptoms. Any ideas?

Now he's just next to a rock and continuously swimming straight up but not going anywhere. He's still breathing hard. He looks completely normal on the outside (except for maybe his colors). Could it be internal parasites?

More likely internal bacteria. And almost certainly terminal. Parasites tend not to kill their hosts; it's a poor evolutionary strategy.
