reptile lights on 29g?

i bought a 29 gallon tank on CL and it came with lights for reptiles, even tho the guy i bought it from said he used it for reef :confused:

anyways the 2 lights in the hood are

Repti-Glo 36" 30W

Repti-Glo 8.0 UVB 36" 30W

also it came with a light that fits another hood i have on a 20 long

Life-Glo 24" 20W

i was curious if these lights could grow aquarium plants, and if so, what light level. thanks

They probably will grow plants, just not as well as real plant bulbs. The only thing I would worry about is the UV level. UV is damaging to plant tissue and may cause some 'burning' if the exposure is high enough.

the UVB one states "for reptiles only" so ill definitly swap that one out
