i have a 10 gal. tank that i emptied out 5 days ago. the were crazy amount of pond snails and even more eggs. i cleaned the tank out but i dont want any more pond snails so is there any chance that the eggs could still hatch if there is any and if so what should i do?

Just squash every snail you can find or get some assassin snails (Anentome helena).

i did kill everyone that i saw and wiped out all the eggs that i saw. then i washed it out 2 times with super hot water. its been dry for 5 days now and i was wondering if there were any eggs that i didnt catch if they could hatch.

I wouldn't mind a dozen snails but certainly not hundreds. They have their place in a closed ecosystem eating leftover foods that contributes to ammonia spikes.:)

You could put some MTS there. MTS can easily outcompete the pond snails for food and possibly eat their eggs. MTS also give you benefits by digging the substrate thus ensuring it is well aerated preventing anaerobic spots from forming.

MTS are very easy to breed. They can be obtained by asking around your LFS or friends for extras or get them as hitchhikers in plants.

Orrr... you can let the tank dry out completely, then rinse it very well, then dry it out one last time.

Dries all the eggs out :]

Seriously check out the RAOK thread under the classifieds section. She has what you want for free (well and shipping I'm assuming), just put up something in return :)

It's a great thing

thats kind of a problem right now. i dont have anything to offer right now as i just gave a friend of mine most of my extra stuff so he could set up a tank for his son

I got my MTS from petsmart. They gave them to me for free since they seem to have a snail problem of their own. It's worth checking there or other pet stores to see if they have gotten any as hitchhikers

i got about ten of them free from my lps a few months ago and now i have zillions of them. they don't need their own tank to breed, they have live young that will bury themselves and come out to eat sometimes. i'd send you some for free but you live in the states and shipping over the border costs about $18 or so. i'm sure someone on here will send you some for the cost of shipping. just put an add in the classifieds saying you needs some. check your lps first though. they probably have some in their plants. they are the ones with the cone shaped shells
