Has anyone used a Penn Plax Bubbler for a 10 gallon aquarium before?

It's what I'm currently using in my 10 gallon invert tank. I'm going to upgrade in the near future to an actual sponge filter, but what are your opinions on this product?
 
I have a few of those laying around, I am using one right now on a shrimp tank. I loaded it up with lava rock and filter floss, seems to work well enough.
 
i have a few exactly like yours they do a good job on small tanks.
