Have a question about MH

Tough call because internet info on it is not great..nor horrible. Since I am not getting much info from people I do trust opinions from on it..I don't know.
I do know that there are lots of JBJ products in the past having some issues..and customer satisfaction seems to be slightly negative about them.
Often you will see Viper vs Sunpod posts...and across the board I have seen Sunpod over Viper each time I read something about them.
All I do know is Sunpod makes a very good product for lighting and nano tank lighting....ive seen several up close and I do say the light looks good going into the tanks.
JBJ is a slight risk if I was to consider purchasing them. If you can afford to get Sunpod lighting vs JBJ..... I say go with a sunpod for the reassurance that you are buying a quality product.
Google the product Viper MH reviews and see what you come up with...but even then you are just getting opinions from folks like me. Do you trust the source... its hard to tell sifting through BS vs straight forward honest posts.

I have a 70w viper clamp-on that I picked up used on RC over my frag tank. I've had it running for about 6 months now with no issues. I didn't do much research on it before I bought it, other than at 100 bucks with a few bulbs included it seemed like a good deal, so I jumped on it. I like it so far.
Well, they had a bunch of technical issues when they first came out (same with the Coralife ones), but I think they have ironed those out by now. In any case, I thought I recalled that someone said the PAR with the stock bulb is pretty bad--don't quote me on that, though, since I may be thinking about something else...
junk imho. I've seen so many of their ballasts malfunction, or the adjusting handles warp. They have supposedly "fixed" those issues, but I'm still a skeptic of the k2 lights. If you want a good clamp on MH, go with hamilton

well if its a trade for something you can do without, go for it. as long as you're not going to be spending money on one, might as well try it out for yourself.
