My blue acaras have spawned 2 days ago and in that
short space of time have moved the eggs to 3 different
locations in the tank.
They have spawned several times before and have never moved the eggs.
They are in a 100g with 2 convicts 2 other blue acaras and
4 giant danios, oh, and a pleco.
Cheers.

Did previous spawnings produce any fry/fish?

Sounds like the parents are moving the eggs around so they aren't discovered by tankmates and consumed.

My convicts do this too, but only if there are dithers in the tank. If they are alone, they will leave them in one spot. I'd say it's normal for cichlids to move the eggs.

Yes they have produced fry on several occasions.
Cheers.
