I am setting up a dart frog tank and am trying to save myself the 30 mile trip to the nearest LFS for aquarium sealant. I need something to use on the DIY background so that I can get coco fiber to adhere. Are there any alternatives, other types of silicone that may be found in the hardware section of like wallie world or should I just give up and make the trek?

My understanding is that any silicone that says "100% silicone" with no additives is fine. It doesn't have to say "aquarium" on the package. My hardware store does carry something specifically labeled for aquarium use, but I bought "GE Silicone I 100% Silicone Rubber Sealant" because it was cheaper. I haven't used it yet, so if I'm wrong on this I hope someone will pipe up before I poison my tank!
