Bosses at animal rights group PETA have heaped praised on Britney Spears for deciding not to feature animals in her upcoming Circus tour.

The star came under fire from the organization's campaigners after she used elephants in the music video for her single Circus.

A spokesperson for the group claimed the star should be able to relate to caged animals' plight as she is a "victim of the paparazzi and always crying about how she hates to be held up in her guarded house."

But now the star appears to be back in favor with the activists - after leaving out all live creatures for her forthcoming trek.

President Ingrid Newkirk tells RadarOnline.com, "PETA praises Britney for embracing modern animal-free circuses like Cirque du Soleil, which spotlight human creativity and talents instead of forcing chained and beaten exotic animals to perform confusing and uncomfortable tricks... Now Britney won't risk winding up in court on cruelty charges."

i agree it was a good decision on her part.... and normally i hate tree huggers (no offense)

Is that even the reason Britney isn't using animals on the tour? It just seems like one would leave animals out because of the expenses of transporting/training/feeding them, and not because the nutjobs at PETA is angry at you.
 
I'm not sure what interests me less... Brittany Spears or PETA. Oh well, I guess they're both irrelevant to me.

They just took 50+ cats from hoarder I know and killed every one of them, down to kittens. Some were sick, but a lot were not, and they were lovable and sweet with people, cats and dogs.
 
But she will, pick up a double cheezburger on the way to the concert in her mercedez with the leather seats, she'll pay with her visa taken from her aligator skin wallet that was inside her ostrich leather purse and eat it while she wears her mink coat, and zebra fur miniskirt and stomp the gas with her snakeskin boots!

I don't see why this would be a surprise to anyone....

Brittney is a nut and PETA is a bunch of nuts so they fit right in together.
