going to heavily plant my 29 soon and here is what I would like to do:

12 Rummies
2 German rams OR Bolivian rams pairs.
couple yellow or cherry shrimp

Any problems with the above stock? could i even add a few more rummies? any other suggestions? Definately want the rummies and rams.

I'd start with 15 as you'll likely lose some. And if you're doing planted, you want to get some Otos or at least a pair of bristlenose plecos

geez i cant believe the stories i am hearing about people losing rummies like that. I am going to be acclimating them using the drip method for about a half hour. what is it with those fish?

Dwarf Shrimp will become an expensive snack!

Your stocking list sounds good, except for maybe the shrimp. I would add a school of otos, around 4-6. I highly recommend rams though. They are an awsome fish. Make sure though that they are not the asian bred type. The asian bred ones look great in the store, but usually have a shortened life span and are not suitable for breeding purposes. Good Luck!

I keep RCS with Rummy nose, Rams, Cardinals, Otos and dwarf Pencils. RCS population has a direct connection with how much I feed. I still see the occasional on smaller RCS but as long as they are in densely planted tank they should be ok. Your tight quarters might mean the difference.
