Ok... so here I am.

I've got a 10g on my desk that currently has just aquatic plants in it BUT what I want to do is move all the plants to my 40g and change the 10g to a viv or a pal... I'm looking for ideas on what I could keep in the 10g. I've started to look into newts but I don't know where I could buy some around here. I'm open to all ideas and all kinds of rescaping (so suggesting aquatic, boggish or any other environment is fine with me.)

And, to be totally honest, I was looking into FBTs or PDFs but I don't want to cramp them as I have read that they need tall or wide tanks to feel comfortable.

I'd go with Dune Geckos, Viper Geckos or Pygmy Chameleons.

a ten g is pretty small to keep any aquatic animals like frogs, the closest you could get would be a rainforest setup with pygmy chamelons

Or flip it verticle and go for some darts....

I would personally leave the plants in there and add 4-5 guppies

Why not keep a pac man frog in there. These guys do not require a lot of room and basically will just sit there all day.
As amphibians go, what I keep in 10s are a pac man, a Cane Toad, and a tiger salamander. (of course all in separate tanks.)
As reptiles, I keep smaller animals in 10s. I have leopard Geckos, Garter Snakes and Hognose all kept in 10 gallon setups.

Have you considered 'Fire Belly Toads'?
