Well the tax return will be good this year and not too far away.

So I could go big, bigger than I intended... but I was looking at 75 to 125 gallon range initially.

I am sucker for the bow fronts despite the cost.

I really would want to cut the overflows out (carefully), if I bought this. It was used for saltwater for a few monthes and he is backing out of the hobby. He still has a freshwater setup in an identical tank... sick. So, I would be buying the saltwater setup stuff, if I strike a deal. Anything to be concened about?

I really don't know anything about his bio wheel... Was planning on canister.

It was bigger than intended. I only have ever helped with a 55 gallon and 45 gallon ...as a helper for my roommate. Though, I have easy access to water disposal and sink 10' away.

I can get the tank in through the window, so checked that. No idea on the stand.

What do you think.

Nice tank, but a bit over-priced IMHO.

Agree, he is asking too much. Unfortuantely, he is probably intent in recouping a large portion of the investment cost of his venture and my offer will probably be insulting. =D

I agree with the others. I'd definitely hold out. Even for a bowfront it seems awfully pricey. The lights included are nothing special, and probably won't even be enough for low light plants in a tank that deep. Plus, there is no picture or mention of a return pump or AGA overflow kit... count on $100+ for the return pump and $50+ for the overflow kit.

You'll be able to find a rectangular 75-125 gallon for MUCH cheaper. :)

i got my 72 gal bowfront for 125 used. that is a rediculous price for that size bow front. the LFS by me has 175 gal bowfront or whatever with stand for 950ish, you are almost paying full price retail for something used.

a bit pricey
and if you did get it..why cut the overflows out..use them.
the tank is drilled on the bottom (usually) utilize the sump and set up the dual overflows.. better for circulation.

No Deal! Hahaha.

Seriously, I may make a much lower offer on it and I think I will ask if he has the AGA overflow kit and/or additional items. I already have sent him 2 e-mails to get more information. I am also still getting prices in on specials, bowfronts, even Starphire tanks from LFSs.

I don't think that bio-wheel slump whould be enough filtration either and agree on the lights not being all that special. So factoring all that in... It is a big bow front tank with a stand and some extra stuff to help.

Thanks for all the replies. Very helpful.

I agree with everyone else. for that price you could go to your LFS and buy a 150 gallon standard tank, stand and lights for around that price..brand new..
