Ok the algae that was just growing in my dwarf hairgrass is now spreading again. It is again starting to cover my driftwood again and other plants. I have turned my CO2 up to where it is making my aquarium look like a giant container of sprite. Even my algae is pearling:swear: I am dosing 3/4 NH3, 1/3 K2SO4, 1/4 the other one, and 1/3 Plantex.

This is seriously ticking me off. I have been fighting it for 4.5 months now. I have done black outs and cleaned my two smaller filters out. I haven't cleaned my 2217 out sense Sept.

1 month ago I took everything out and dosed it in Hydrogen peroxid and it cleaned everything up, now it is all coming back again.......:help:

Any suggestions??

What is your tank size and lighting?

In addition...

Pressurized or DIY Co2? If pressurized, do you have a drop checker? If DIY, how much are you making?

Also...what TYPE of algae???

It is along with the thread 2 days ago that I put up.

75 gallon tank, 4 x55 watt AH supply, Pressurized CO2 with a timer.

as we suggested in the other thread reduce your lighting for now. 2-3 bulbs instead of 4

then when my plants get reestablished put the bulb back in?

Just wanting to understand, thanks for the help.

once you get ahold of the algae you can start messing around with the light again

I still can't figure out why it go so bad. It was in great shape before I moved. Was kind of in ok shape recovering from the move, and then the hurricane hit and I have never been able to get back on top of it. The filters shut off for about 16 hours and then when they came back on, they started pumping lots of brown junk into the aquarium, and it has been all downhill sense then.

I'd also suggest cleaning out the Eheim and trying to get rid of excess mulm as 1) algae seems to do better w/ lower water current 2) excess mulm, besides feeding algae, will keep clogging the Eheim.
