Noobie Question - Just got my plants

Now what do I do? Is there an acclimation process like fish? Do I trim the roots? I just have them floating in the tank right now.

I have some swords and a crypt wendtii going in a 6 gallon. Substrate is Eco-complete.

I trim the roots a bit to encourage growth and plant them. No acclimation needed.

may want to get some potassium permanganate to dip them in for a half hour before introducing to your tank. this will kill parasites, snails, and diseases.

Don't be dismayed if the leaves on the crypt disintegrate soon after you plant it. It's likely nothing you did wrong: crypts are just sensitive to changed conditions. As long as the roots are fine, the leaves will grow back.
