Would Maracyn be safe to use in a tank containing Apple snails, Bamboo& Amano shrimp?
My huge Pearl Gourami looks like it may have a small wound on it's side :(

eh, i just wish i could tell you from personal experience rather than regurgitate info. You should be aware though that the med listed as safe is Maracyn Plus. Dunno if that's the same as yours?

I wouldn't risk putting inverts through any medicinal course. Is separating and treating the gourami an option?

do you have melafix? that would be fine to use since its safe with inverts and stuff. unless you don't have that on hand.

For a small wound, Maracyn is not that necessary unless the fish suffered bacterial infection. Stick with daily water changes. You did not have to add Melafix.

Melafix can't hurt though, can it Lupin?
How can you be sure it isn't anything else? Judging from that patch, I'd consider isolating it in a 5g hospital tank and monitor for possible bacterial infections. Keep antibiotics away from your snails. Melafix can't hurt. Dose with Pimafix as well as a precaution.

All I know is that it wasn't there last night, so I'm thinking it's some sort of injury
