Carried out my first tests, on my new tank. Have now had the tank up and running for 7 days.

PH: 7.6
Ammonia: 0.3
Nitrate: 0.25
Nitrate: 30mgl
KH: 200ppm
GH: 300ppm

is it just me or my ammonia reading extremely low, for this early on?
also, the kh and gh tests, not sure whether i have carried out correctly or not.. i kept on adding drops and shaking until it changed colour(went according to instructions),.. just the numbers feel a bit high)

so am i close to being cycled?
thx.

The live plants are consuming some of the ammonia, which is good for all those fish, for the ammonia is quite dangerous for them.

The plants will ease the suffering of the fish, as all the spikes of ammonia and nitrites will be less than an unplanted tank.

Still, take it easy on feeding the fish, only once a day, very lightly, as any ammonia is bad ammonia.

currently im only feeding every other day. As soon as my ammonia and nitrate hit 0, is it safe for me to presume that my tank is cycled?. Just that, i had the impression from here..that it would be at least a month.. however no complaints here :)
