Hey all,

I have a few quick questions for those who dose with Excel.

1) Do you dose every day or every other day like it says on the instructions, or do you dose like maybe 2 - 3 times per week and still have success with it?

2) I have Corkscrew Vals and I have been reading that the Excel can melt them. I am dosing at 1/2 of the recommended amount, should this work ok, or am I just wasting my time dosing at 1/2 strength?

3) When I dose should it be when the lights are out, or doesn't it matter?

4) After a water change (I do 50% weekly on a 150 gallon) do you dose quite a bit more than normal like it says on the bottle, or do you just dose the normal amount that it says to do thru the week?

Thanks all and happy planting :thm:

Thanks for the quick response, Rich.

You say it melted your Vals. Are you using the amount it calls for, or 1/2 of that?

If I dose 1/2 of the amount is it just a waste of the Excel, or will it still help my plants?

Thanks

I used the whole amount. I would imagine half would be fine. You could try slowly building the dose up and see how the vals do.
