Hi, friends!
I have 6 of these kids in my 55g mbuna tank. They have been there for 6 1/2 months now. When they arrived from Kentucky, I thought they were the common Yellow Tail Acei (Msuli); of blue body and yellow fins and I saw their almost black body thinking that they were going to get blue later. Now, I'm not that sure because I read here a friend's thread with a video link about black aceis with yellow fins and they looked like my aceis! So, now the question is: Can these kids turn blue yet or are they in fact the Ps. acei Black Tanzania? I love their color anyways, but some of them only have some blue on their faces, since a few months ago. What do you think?

First pic looks like no, second pic looks like yes (good quality acei 'ngara' will have a yellow trim on the fin as yours do). The first pic does look like the regular yellow fin. Black aceis as you know are not actually black, but a very very very dark purple/blue shade with some blackish bars. Maybe as they mature you will see their colouration come out more clearly - nice fish though & good look with them.

Thanks for your replies, friends! Then, it seems that I will have to wait a little bit more time; to see how them will color up finally.

good things come to those who wait. hehehehe yeah i am like that aye.. not!!!!
