when will they "multiply"?

ok so my multies are i think 3 or 4 months now. so when will the multies multiply. ive been waiting for them to breed. do you know when ill have some eggs?

You won't see eggs as they'll be inside the shells. But I noticed babies within a few weeks of having mine. There's a very slim chance that you have all the same sex...

Tang cichlids are slooow growers IME. Do yours have well-defined stripes and a visible size difference between males and females?

some have well defined stripes. one has always had them. the others have also had theirs the since i got them but they have become more distinguished. however the smallest one is now just getting stripes. there are only 5 of them so i have wondered about wether or not they are the same sex (with my luck they probably are). they have become a colony and the alpha male has buried the uninhabited shells.

I had a very young pair breed they were like an inch and i didn't think they could at that age/size but i guess i was wrong because she belted out a couple fry..

In the end i believe she had like 3 babies and that's it but as of lately she puts out quite a few and i probably have to get rid of some..

Since i have had them i never seen an egg once just tiny fry swimming out the shell entrance..

I've had mine almost a year with no fry, but have heard 6 months is when they become sexually mature. Of course, my situation is a little different, I have 3 hungry eels in there as well.

i may go and buy a few more from daves. bcuz his are full grown i think. and that will decrease the odds of same sex. today they are alot darker than they were yesterday. there color prominence changes constantly from day to day.

I wouldn't add anymore. If your tank is the same as in your sig your past the stocking limit IMHO, especially when the shellies start to breed. Just give it some time,i t will happen eventually.

no. its just the 5 multies in their now, i took everything else out. i need to change my sig.
