I was looking to purchase a few juvenile silver dollars this past week but noticed that these fish in two LFS looked beaten up. Their fins looked chewed, as if some fin-nippers have been all over them "like white on rice". Anyone see this before on Silver Dollars at your LFS? To top it all off one of the lfs was selling them for $8.97 each whilst the other was for $5.97.
Anyway, I've been feeling bad for these fish since they're quite docile and IMO one of the most beautiful fish in the hobby. I'm considering "saving" a few of them and trying to nurse them back to health. Does anyone know of a medication that could help with their torn/shredded tail and fins?
Does anyone know of any SD breeders in Canada, in particular on the East Coast? Doesn't have to be a huge breeder; could be a local joe like the rest of us.
Thanks for your advice, suggestions, etc. in advance.
