Duckweed, salvinia minima, and some pennywort, anyone?

I need to clean off the top of my 55g of these floaters. They're driving me nuts! I might keep a little salvinia but the duckweed needs to go!

I have a 48"x15" surface pretty much packed full of duckweed and salvinia mixed. Probably more than anyone wants but if your fish or snails eat it, they're perfect.

I thought I'd offer people a chance to buy it or else it'd be going into the trash.

$7 shipped via USPS small flat rate box. I'll be cramming a sandwich sized ziplock baggie full of it. First few packages will have some pennywort included.

Anyone?

is this stuff like snails? where once you get it you cant get rid of it? and in small portions does it make nice effects in the tank???

easier to remove than snails. Just net it up. Salvinia has a nice effect, with their fuzzy 0.5"-0.75" long roots.

Okay, not a whole sandwich baggie full but it'll be a heaping fishnet full. I netted some today for Bettalover and got about half a bag full of salvinia, duckweed, and pennywort, which I'm pretty sure is more than enough.

1 sold (thanks bettalover!), 2 pending for later this week (grannylvsfish, bazil323), 1 waiting for reply (lorindaleigh). Have about 2 packages left.

Just a quick question. What sort of requirements for the salvinia minima? I can't find much from googling. The others should be fine in low/med light, right?

Salvinia spreads just about as quick as duckweed and is definitely low light. I'm growing it in my biology class and the light is like 20 feet above and its gone from 12 plants to about 50 in 3 weeks. It is a lot nicer looking than duckweed.

Is this going to be going on for awhile? I'd definitely buy some in the future if it is. It is just too cold here in PA right now.

I'll hold onto salvinia, but I'll be trying to get rid of as much duckweed as possible.

In the future, I'll be keeping salvinia, pennywort, and maybe riccia as my floaters. I'll be avoiding duckweed like the plague.

I'll be skimming the tank this weekend, removing and bagging the floaters while keeping some of the salvinia. I'll know how much I have left available Saturday evening.
