i have one coldwater tank as well, but no photos i'm affraid, it's in a sorry state.

we had a very hot summer this year and it was 40c in the shade for weeks on end.

killed off all my plants, also all but two of my oranda! in the coldwater tank, water temp was around 27c! nothing much i could do about it as i was away at the time

so i'm thinking of converting this small 12 gallon tank back to tropical, if we are going to keep getting hot summers!

Nice tanks pics! I also agree, great looking Pleco!!

I really like your 4 foot tank, very natural looking! You have some real nice looking canopies on both tanks. I've never seen a metal one like the one on the 4 footer. I think it's metal anyway, looks nicer than the plastic ones around here.

yes, it is metal. well spotted. quite good system,

front part opens up to feed the fish, with sliding glass pannels under it as per normal. also contains the tube light.

the rear also opens up, this contains all the wiring for the light and the light unit it'self.

quite popular design here, and fairly inexpensive

The other tank has a better hood imo. again two openable parts to accesses the fish, made of plastic and can be easily lifted off, when you need to work in the tank. contains 3 mounting points for lights to suit my mood, front middel or rear.

not so well planted, having trouble getting my plantes to take root
