I've got a 125 tank with crushed coral as a base. The only thing I have to clean it is a siphon gravel vac which doesn't work all that well. Most of the time the sucker fish poop is too heavy to even get sucked up. lol.
I did some seaching and looked on ebay and found some that hook to a sink faucet or what else works well. I have totally no idea on this at all. Thanks.

not sure about crushed coral but if you know how to clean reef sand without sucking it up you can let me know lol i always suck my sand right down the drain, gonna ruin my plumbing sooner or later. i use a python that hooks to my faucet. makes things easier and less messy.

Actually, a larger gravel siphon (with larger diameter hose) would probably solve the problem. Alternatively, you could set up the tank the way I did a couple of mine. I used bulk blue/white pond filter media, cut to fit the bottom of the tank, to separate the crushed coral layer from a layer of small black gravel. Here's a couple pics of the 55:

Siphoning the gravel is easy, because nothing gets past the layer of filter media. There are also 2 powerheads running UG filter plates reverse-flow, which keeps the coral layer clean. Overkill for biofiltration capacity...
