My friend works at a Winn-Dixie, a supermarket.
They have live lobsters in the store, and one of the duties when you close is to put the lobsters to sleep.

He says you reach your hands in their, cup them over their eyes for about 2 minutes, and they're asleep.

They say that if you don't do it, their health takes a dramatic downturn, and they die.

Something about at the depths that the lobsters live in naturally there isn't that much light, so they try to simulate the darkness of the natural habitat.

This sounds crazy to me?

Is it?

Reminds me of when I was a kid working in a lumber yard.
We sent all the new guys downstairs to the basement to get the woodstretcher...

We told them is was a device used to make crooked boards straight by stretching them.. and there was no basement...

sometimes we sent those guys upstairs to get the skyhook...
and to the boiler room for a bucket of steam...

Ahh.. man, those were the days.

never heard of that one,, but I know a way that works! I do it all the time. . .

Put the lobster vertically, nose (or whatever the heck that pointi thing is) to the top of the counter, tail up high. All you gotta do is rub its forhead... Eventually it'll stop moving.

I'm telling you, it sounds wierd, but they really do fall asleep!

LOL...in boy scouts we used to send the new kids to find the left-handed smoke shifter...or relative bearing grease.
