Hi All
I just returned from a 3day trip. I have installed an automatic feeder for the three days. I guess I overfeeded for these 3days because I am seeing pellet size stuff on the bottom. Also there is brown algae all over the place. I have attached few pictures. I will siphon out the stuff on the bottom but please let me know how to get rid of the brown algae?

Thx

If it appeared as a result of your overfeeding, it should resolve itself. You can do water changes, etc. to expedite the process, though.

This assumes a tank that is matured and uses RO/DI water, though. If your tank is new and/or you use tapwater, that would also explain the algae.

I would not worry about it to much, it looks like you have a new set up. The first growth is usually the unwanted stuff :)

oh and please stop with the auto feeder :( Get someone to feed for you when you're out of town.

I have a really bad brown algae problem also.

It's pretty persistent, but I found the best way to get rid of it is to keep the lights off til they go away.

Of course if you have anything in the tank that requires light I dont recommend this, for FOWLR tanks ^^
