So I am talentless when it comes to plants. I don't have the room either to make one. I would love a moss wall. I was hoping that someone could make me one and ship it to me. I won't have the money until next week but thought I would ask now.

I also need a cave that would fit a 8 inch pleco. I would prefer a natural looking cave (like stone or carved out driftwood) but am open to all options.

Thanks!

What size tank is this moss wall for?

(I assume you've already been badgered about the pleco...I hope it's not in that 20 gal)

It's for a 20 gallon. Today's my bday and my present to myself is a new home for my pleco. :) I won't be able to get it for a few more weeks but I'm currently looking for a used tank for him :) By time I get it cycled and all, he should be in his new home by the end of March.

20 gallon high, 20 gallon long? I can make one, I have moss growing out of my ears. In any case, a moss wall will take some time to grow in and look full like I assume you want it to.

Looks like a 20 gallon high, dimensions 24" long x 12" wide x 16" high. To make a wall, you get plastic craft mesh or other safe material and sandwich moss in between two pieces. The moss grows out and over the mesh, eventually disguising it. There's a couple threads on here, with pictures and such. Off the top of my head I think msjinkz has a moss wall.

Not to assume so much, but I'm guessing you just have stock lighting, which is probably only 15 watts or so. In such a set up it will take a long time for your wall to fill in, and you will have to be diligent about trimming the wall. If it gets too thick, the moss will grow in such a way that it might prevent the bottom and inside of the wall from receiving light and the moss will die >.< So in other words, it will definitely not be maintenance free. I have heard of people "angling" their wall out from the aquarium glass, so that the bottom of the wall can get more light.

In the lower light, java moss tends to grow in a "stringy" way instead of a branched "bushy" way. I have christmas moss, which would probably look better in the end. I have a 20 gal with stock lighting, I'll put some christmas moss in there and see how it does.

Thanks :) Maybe I should start looking for better lighting? Any suggestions? I have no idea where to start.
