my lil puppy's growing up...

my waterdog is getting a tiger stripes and his gills are half the size they used to be. his little arms look stronger and his eyes are starting to look more external.

i rearranged the tank so he has a rock to sit on just under the surface. all he has to do to get his head out of the water is a little pushup . this will last maybe a week? then i'll have to get him a wet terrarium setup right? i have a 40 gallon rubbermaid i could use. what kind of bedding do they need? could i set up a couple of sponges and have a powerfilter trickle down on them to keep them moist? does anybody have pics of a good salamander
setup?

Tiger salamanders live in most of the US and Canada, so habitat can be pretty vaired. They will want to dig, so I would go with about 4-5 inches of loose soil--plan on having it moist on one side of the tank, and a bit dry on the other. Let the soil dry out periodically, then similate a rain storm to moisten it again. I'd also add some plants--they like to hide under stuff, and providing some small, flat rocks and wood will help. I wouldn't worry about a mister, more of a pain and may contribute to some mildew issues.

was going to convert this 10 gallon but my bosses wife is getting rid of her bearded dragon tank. he thought it could be a 50 gallon. but i am guessing its a 29g. with stand for $50. i'm hoping its an aquarium [3/8" glass] and not just a terrarium [1/4"]
