Hello everyone. I just got 2 java ferns and a thing of hornwort from the lps. I also got my shipment of java moss in the mail today. Right now all the plants are in my 125 that is cycling. If need be I can move them to my 20 gallon that has been established forever. I was just wondering if there is anything I need to get to make sure these plants stay alive! From what I have read these are pretty simple plants to keep.

java ferns are one of the easyest plants to grow, as long as you dont bury the rhisome, your fine, they do fine in low light java moss is also low light hornwort also is not that demanding. you have some pretty simple starting plants,

Plant also don't mind whether the tank is cycled yet or not. So feel free to set up your plants with the other rocks, driftwood, decor right away. Just wait to stock with fish until the cycle is done.

Please be aware that plants eat nitrogen and ammonia. The more plants one has in a given tank, the fewer good bacteria are needed and thus will colonize. A side effect of this is that when cycling with live plants you may not see as big an ammonia spike and can might totally miss nitrites and even nitrates.

Well I guess growing these will be easier than I thought. I'll be watching the cycle carefully

thanks guys!
