I bought a 48" shop light to put over my 55 gallon, and well I guess it's supposed to be hard wired because it didn't come with a plug. What do I need to get to put a plug on it, I guess at Lowes they sell plugs with wires at the end I can use? It will go on a timer so I don't need to turn it on and off. Thanks!

make a question mark shapes put them on terminals screw them down and boom done should take you 5 mins tops-Anne

Take the one you have back and buy this one:

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100193761&N=10000003+90019+502059

I have two of these on my 300 gallon and they work great.
Plus they have the cords built in.

I bought the same type of fixture a while back, here's my thread showing how I wired them up with the help of forum members!

Link works fine. Just click on it.

I was only recommending that just in case she was not comfortable
wiring stuff up. It is easy......but not for everyone.

I'll go to lowes and pick up the cord tomorrow then. It's a Utilitech 48" 2 light wraparound on sale for $18.95. I couldn't pass it up!

Yeah I know what you mean about good deals. Canadian Tire had a sale on their shop lights 12.50, as a bonus at the same time there was an $8 government incentive coupon on fluorescent light. Total price with tax $5.14. A twin pack of bulbs ended up costing me $7.
