I'm a brand new owner of a fire belly toad, just got him yesterday. I woke up in the night to what sounded like him barking. At first I was pretty pleased, thinking he was happy, and I congratulated myself on making him a nice habitat that he liked! But this morning, I read online that they only bark when they're in distress. Is this true?

Also, I read that both male and females bark. True or false? Set me straight!

i doubt that hes in distress, they just bark like any other toad at night. the males bark louder than the females, which rarely bark at all anyways

I think you'll be fine. Got any pics of the enclosure?

Yep, here it is:

Yeah, I was thinking of getting another toad but wasn't sure if it would be too cramped. Would 10 gallons be enough for two?

Yes you could keep a pair in a 10. Really nice enclosure. I see far too many setups that are almost all water. These guys really will take advantage of land area. Great setup!
