So last night i ended up buying an aqua fern from a fishstore and it turns out that it is not aquatic from everything i can find. it is already sitting in my tank at home....
What are the chances of the fish place taking it back?

Maybe you can call and ask if you can trade it in for an aquatic plant. I hate how stores sell non-aquatic plants as aquatic plants.

most plants sold for aquaria are not truly aquatic plants and in fact are bog plants that spend time underwater during flood season

I took back a "Green Henge" to petland once after finding that it was not a true aquatic. They were ok with me exchanging it for something else.

so i put the whole thing back in its tube and repackaged it. brought it in and said i wanted to return it. the guy at the counter asked if i wanted to exchange it. i found an aquatic plant exchanged it. no hassle at all. so it was great. ihad my non aquatic plant list in hand in case of any hassles
got 3 other cheap things, used my 3 dollar coupon and the whole debacle cost me 1.80
