my cons just layed eggs. how do i know if they are good. what color should they be. how long till they hatch. this is the first time ive had cichlids at all and my first spawn. they might have spawned b4 but not for me. i had found a good post about cons but i couldnt find it again..i have them in a 20 g long. right now i have a 40 open i just complety cleaned it out should i leave them in the 20 till they eggs hatch or could i move them over to the 40.theyre in the 20 with two other males. so i have 4 cons in the 20 right now. im trying to give the other two males away though

If the eggs are yellow then they've been fertilized by the male. If they're white and fuzzy, then they're bad. It takes about 3-4 days for them to hatch.
 
ok they hard to see but look like a yellowish orange. just discover them this morning. i seen theyre breeding tube out yesterday

im looseing alot of baby wigglers one of the two parents keep eating them. there is only acouple dozen left. could i move the parents from the wigglers or should i just keep them together. and hope next time more last.
 
i would move them if they are being eaten and you want to keep the fry.
 
Convicts aren't known for eating their fry.Are you sure they are being eaten.If you have a powerfilter,they could be being sucked into that.
How many fish are in the tank with the fry besides the parents?
 
well she was keeping them inside that log now there are kept in the corner of the tank right by the log. i have two bn plecos they are divided off and a couple of ramshorn snails. im pretty sure there looks to bee about 1/8 of them left now. they hatched 3 or 4 days ago. the pleco can get over to the other side but you can see where they stay causeonly the one side of the tank is clean. the side away from the cons
 
i have a aqua tech 20-40 but its on the other half of the tank.oh and also there in a 20 gal long. i can get a pic of there setup itll be 1 min.. also i see both parents sucking up the babys but they do spit them out onto the pile of babys
