a few snails made it in tank, they are very small so i dont think they will make it, i did a 50% water change today before i put in the rock that they came in on, the tank has been running for three days now. i will post more pictures to show the progress of my tank and the complete setup.

I think i want a new shrimp that is more...ummm.... shrimp like. This guy has been pretty fun, but in a nano tank i need a nano shrimp i think.

I think i could use one more rock right in the middle towards the back, but i must keep in mind things will need room to grow, so i think this is going to be what i will work with.

there was just a void in the back where i couldnt set anything on it, so one more rock topped it off.
I am seriously concidering getting a chiller to maintain perfect water temps, without a fan on the filter; the water reaches 84 degrees at the end of a 8hour light cycle. I figure the tank still has to cycle so i probally have some time before i take action.
Does anyone know where to get a good chiller for a 28gal tank with a price that is also within reason?
Have you fitted a chiller to this tank?

I have just started researching chillers, i think that would be the way to go, because then i dont have to worry about temperatures dictating my light cycle.
Does anyone know of a good onlight site to buy one and/or what brands i should avoid?

i finished work on my 120gal tank that is now for sale:
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/9411/120galsalepic.jpg (http://img11.imageshack.us/my.php?image=120galsalepic.jpg)
The add reads as follows:
I have a 120 gal saltwater tank for sale, it comes with:
-a 2x2x4 tank with a metal stand cost $450 new, this one is used but still very nice it has a few scrapes from the rock but not bad
- 2 x 40watt T8 power-glow fluorescent lighting $100 Gives enough light to light up my living room too
-2 x Aquaclear 110 filters $100 almost twice the filter rating for the size of the tank, more is always better
--300watt heater $30 keeps the tank at the right temp
- estimated 70lbs of fiji liverock @ $8 a lbs, the rock in this tank is no joke, it is by far worth the most, nice purple coraline fiji rocks
- NEMO clown fish $38 yep, everyone knows him
-one cleaner shrimp$28 that is hand tame, he will eat from your hand and is always at the front of the tank when you come near
-one bubbletip anemone that the clown hosts in. $80 easy to keep just feed him krill every other day
- one yellowtang $40 pretty fish and has been in this tank for about 7 months now, sometimes i think he watches me as much as i watch him
-The clean up crew is a bunch of snails and crabs that tend to the rocks and tank, endlessly searching out food
-a serpent starfish $8 that comes out only when you feed the tank
-a few peppermint shrimp that you almost never see except at night
This is a nice tank and can get you well on your way into a fun hobby, i just bought a new tank and taking care of one is fine i wish i had time for two.
the tank requires about 30 minutes of upkeep a week, easy to manage.
I figure $400 should make a reasonable price.

The protein skiller that comes with this unit i think works fairly well, it has collected some nasty brown water, while i am sure some units work better then others, there is no doubt that what the stock unit has collected is better off being removed from my tank.

I have the chaeto growing under 10 "mini sun" LEDs, i only bought about the size of a baseball and it seems to be growing under the conditions i have provided.

Here is the current tank pic, the water has cleared up and in a few weeks i should be ready for my first coral.

Looks great! I love all the purple on the rock! You have a very nice tank there! I can't wait to see it all decked out with all your livestock and such. I just went up and read your post where you are selling your 120gal. God I wish I lived by you! Why are you selling it so cheap? Thats basically like a steal!

I'm just looking to get it out of my living room so i can put my plazma TV where the tank is at. I priced it to move, the tank isnt perfect but it will be a great jump start for someone looking to get into the hobby.

You are right, that would be a great start in the hobby. Good luck!
I've heard people say that Plasmas will be gone in 5 years haha. We have a LCD 46" Sony. Its awesome, but we have so many windows in our house that we wouldn't be able to see anything on a plasma during the day.

There are so many areas in my living room where a LCD looks dark, so my plasma being bright no matter what angle you view it at, seems like plasma is the way to go. Besides i like my TV to be bright and colorful. :)

these pictures i took with the flash on and they came out with more detail.
I too am getting a little brown slime on the sand, my water levels are still at 0 ppm i'm just going to assume this is normal while the live sand cycles.

Yeah, depending on what your screen resolution is, there is no shortage of detail.. The flash really shows the coraline on the live rock.

You were right. I was at college at the library and the pics were MASSIVE. Here on my comp. at home they look like normal pics. That coraline looks very nice too. This is going to be a great tank! Congrats!

Ok so i am still waiting while i make sure the tank has cycled, i have never kept a reef tank before what is a good brand of salt to use?
I am also still looking at getting a chiller to ensure ideal temps at all times.
Also if i premix my water for this tank, can i store it in a jug and for how long can i store it?
