If you haven't already heard, it is now here! I have only tried the freshwater version and have had great results. If you want more info on this stuff, go to www.marineland.com. if you are interested in ordering some online, go to www.fishstoretn.com. This is where I have ordered my freshwater bio spira 3 times with excellent results.

Both versions are junk, IMO. Tested the FW in our store. Didn't work at all. Even customers complained.

Theres already a bacteria culture product called Cycle, it works just as good and is carried at most LFS.

I think the "works just as good" is the key to the argument on all these cycle kick-starters... None are any better than others, and all are WORTHLESS crap. A scoop of livesand for saltwater or gravel for freshwater will work wonders for you. Those bottled "starters" are designed only to give Pet *****(insert chain store of your choice here, most suck)***** another item to sell some poor newbie.

There is more viable bacteria floating around in the air than in those bottles.. (that's actually true, go look it up) Save your money!

I am a little out of my element here and just wanted to get the word out, but I respectfully disagree. Bio Spira IS NOT the same as the other cycle products, and is actually an instant cycle. The only reason the product would not work (I'm talking about fresh water at the moment) is if it was not stored properly before it was bought or used, or if it was not used properly. I wouldn't even have posted if I thought the stuff wouldn't work. I have no monetary interest in promoting Bio Spira, and simply wanted to let people know that the salt water version was now available.

The only way to instantly cycle a tank is to transplant enough contents from another tank (live rock, live sand for saltwater, or gravel and filter pads in the case of freshwater ) into a new one to support whatever you wanna put in there. No bottle of goop is going to give you that effect. Show me product testing and reviews, beyond the ones funded by Marineland, and maybe I'll change my mind.

It annoys me to see this kind of mis-information presented in a place where someone without a clue might see it and assume it is true. I haven't even begun to get excited in this thread, so taking a pill isn't called for... Yet =)
