I have noticed every once in a while, my pleco will race to the top of the tank adn release an air bubble or two and race back down to the bottom. What is the purpose of this??? To they breathe actual air?? Thanks!!!

I have only noticed my plecos do this when something isn't right in the tank. Usually they are signaling me that I didn't do my weekly water change and the nitrates are a bit high...
I have heard others say this is normal behaviour for a common pleco though....

Not so much of my plecos, but my cory does it often, it's perfectly natural. Most people have fish that do that.
My pleco does it too, me thinks its lovin it!
